Getting Started Day

 

The one-day Getting Started program is designed for any students who would like some extra, one-on-one support and peer-connection before Orientation Day and the start of semester.

The program explores common challenges that students experience throughout their first year at university. Connect with friendly student mentors and hear about what you need to know and do to be successful.

You only need to attend one Getting Started Day either on campus or online.

Developing a sense of belonging and an awareness of academic expectations are key to your success at university. But we know starting uni can be a daunting experience and navigating through your student journey in your first year can be challenging.

Our range of Connect2Uni programs are here to help you at every stage, from the time you get an offer till the end of your first year.

Attending Orientation Day is an essential part of starting your ACU journey. During your Orientation Day you will find out important information about your course, and what to expect in your first semester. Go on campus tours, learn about your campus student association, student clubs and societies, make friends, and speak to our expert staff about everything that ACU can offer you.

For queries about commencing at ACU as an International Student please contact the International Student Adviser for your campus. They can help you with queries relating to:

First Year Student Mentoring

Connect with an experienced ACU student mentor and benefit from their first-hand experience and knowledge about university life. You mentor will help you meet other students, answer your common questions, give directions, and promote the services and opportunities available to you.

The AskACU Contact Centre and AskACU Centre staff are responsible for providing front line services to students. They provide comprehensive information, advice and services, through phone, email, SMS, online enquiry, live chat and face to face on the following areas:

  • Enrolments – all areas relating to a student’s enrolment/Student Connect
  • Fees and related charges, fines and holds on student records
  • Timetables – how to access/read and Tutorial Direct
